I like this place. My relatives from the area think it's maybe overpriced, but in comparing it to other places I'd been over a few days, I don't agree. Had a great bartender who made an excellent Manhattan. The food is all well prepared and I really like the setting and lighting of the restaurant. I'd definitely go back if in the area.
My husband and I were looking for a lite dinner or sandwich so thought we would check this place out. The food was delicious, but a bit pricy. There were no sandwiches on the menu, but several appetizers we could have chosen. We settled on sharing an entree, "Australian style Prime Rib." It came with baked potato, green beans, salad, and bread. Plenty for the two of us to share. The building was beautiful and it was great to see it repurposed into a restaurant instead of being torn down. We will return sometime when we are back up in Port Austin.
Best restaurant in Port Austin hands down! Tried the vault burger, lake perch and fries and Rueben sandwich, all of which were delicious. The beer selection is great and the building holds a lot of the history of the town. We always stop in when in the area!
Every once and a great while I stumble into a place that really knows what it's doing. From the moment I was seated I knew this place took the time to properly train their wait staff. While in the Navy I worked in the wardroom, I have literally served Kings. While I try not to compare my training to most of my dining experience, when I find one I recognize it immediately.
The menu has a great range of options, prices may seem a little high but they are more than justified by the quality and quantities of food. Frankly this place is the real deal from start to finish. I even took the time to complement the management who directed me to the owner, my hats off to you all. I Highly recommend.
Although the service was good, the food did NOT match the price. TERRIBLE. Ordered my steak medium rare, came well done, I reported it to the manager and they only offered to bring me a new one (after everyone was done with their meal). Did not remove a cent from my bill. Will never go back.
