Had a great time at turnip rock. Be mindful that you may not have cell service in this area (none of us did, several different carriers) but it's not really needed anyway! We stayed at Port crescent campground and kayaked around. Very picturesque!
Not as easy as it looks- A man died last summer getting to Turnip Rock, another died near Pointe Aux Barques lighthouse this summer. When you do get there, it's just like jobbie nooner complete with broken bottles, people using the rocks as their public toilets. But, you can always bum a beer off someone.
Very cool natural land formation that is a decent kayak trip out (especially if the winds are against you. I wouldn't recommend for children or beginners). It's supposedly a 3-4 hour trip but we made it in 2.5 hours with wind against us both ways and sitting at Turnip Rock for half an hour to hang out. Kayaking out is the only way to see this because some rich folks own all the land around it and won't let people in. There are even security guards walking around the private land...weird. Eat the rich
Amazing place for kayak trail, very nice view and please do not trespass. Hope you too have a great time.
It is privately owned and is under surveillance so the owner will have It patrolled, though that does not stop anyone from venturing out there. Other than that it is a great spot that's fun to kayak to.
